Garden Stand Out
Some people take
great pride in their flower gardens. They like their yards and gardens to stand out. They
want things to be pretty. Some people have a natural talent for gardening especially in flowers. There are
nearly limitless possibilities when you are planting a flower garden.
There are so many varieties
of flowers available. You could build your garden based on your favorite colors, favorite flowers, or you could
simply choose to just do a flower garden with random flowers and colors. The choice is yours. It is all based on
your personal desires and what you like.
There are several different
types of flower species that you can have in a garden. First of all, there are perennials. These are flowers
that bloom for a certain period of time. Usually, perennials bloom for two to four weeks during whatever season
they are meant for.
However, to make up for
this short blooming cycle, perennials will come back every year during the season. Perennials usually live for
quite a long time. There are a variety of perennials available that are very easy to care for. They do not
require putting in stakes and they do not have to be separated or divided very often, if ever.

If you want to have a
flower garden that is satisfying to you and is based around perennials you will want to choose a variety of
perennials. This way you can choose plants that bloom at different times and different seasons. This will enable
you to have flowers that are blooming during spring, summer, and fall.
There are an innumerable
amounts and types of perennials that are available these days. If you visit your local home and garden store,
you will see all of the varieties and different colors that are available. Then you can decide what types and
what colors you would prefer.
The next species of flowers
are known as annuals. If you have a real, true annual, it will go through a regular life cycle that will include
growing, flowering, setting seed, and then dying. This will occur during a single season. Many people
misconceive some plants as annuals when they are truly perennials and are just found in warmer climates. An
example of these types of flowers would be geraniums.
In modern day, annuals are
being bred for their color that is maintained throughout the season. These make a wonderful support flower in
any garden. Some of the most common annuals that compliment perennials and mix the best with them include spider
flower, blue salvia, cosmos, sweet alyssum, verbena, nigella, and marguerite daisies. These may be foreign names
to you now, but once you start your garden, you will quickly come to know all of these names.
They are very common types
of annuals. Another great thing about annuals is that they can do a wonderful job of filling up empty space in
the first planting season when the perennials are still puny and you are waiting for them to become stronger and
bigger.
